This is my 44th year with Dawson, and in that time I’ve seen many “new” ways to market candidates. I have to say that TalentRooster is by far the most innovative idea that I have seen for our industry. I am certain that you have screamed in your head (as I have), “if they would only meet him/her I know they would hire them.” With TalentRooster the client can “meet” the candidate before “meeting with them.” I could give you several examples, but the one that I remember the best happened right after we started using TalentRooster. A client of mine who I have worked with for the past eight years needed a customer service rep. Their “wish list” included a requirement of five years CSR experience. One of my candidates had one year of experience. I sent her resume, the client glanced at it and said no. In my head I knew, “if you could only see her, I know you would like her.” I had my candidate come in and create the video, and we sent it to the company. Technology Updates

We are constantly enhancing TalentRooster, please send us your ideas or suggestions. The following are some features that have recently been rolled out:

  • A new “Assessments” section has been added to profiles that allows a recruiter to cut & paste skill assessment results directly to the profile.

  • A new “Candidate Section” has been added to profiles that provides candidates the ability to post “extracurricular activities” or other custom sections.

  • The ability for recruiters to edit their candidate’s profiles.

  • We are currently beta testing a new record from home feature. Soon you will be able to send links to candidates and have them complete their online profile and video from home when it is not possible for them to come in to create the video. Please contact us if you would like to start using this new feature.

Recruiting Tips
  • Send your firm’s branded landing page directly to your candidates so they can learn about TalentRooster, register, and create their digital profile online before they come in for the video interview.

  • Remind candidates that their chance for employment increases 30-50% more by using a digital profile.

  • Stop attaching Word documents to email - only send profiles - be unique and different from the competition!

  • Tell your candidates to spread the word - ask for referrals!

  • Remind candidates to post their profiles to their social networking sites e.g. FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn. This will help drive more traffic to your firm.
